The Blue Moon is one of the best places in town to get the low-down on gay current events, parties, and activities. In addition to the friendly atmosphere, there's a good menu with a diverse mix of snacks and bistro cuisine that has plenty for vegetarians. The Blue Moon is the biggest gay cafe in Edinburgh.

CC Blooms is the biggest of the Edinburgh gay bars Packing crowds in every evening, the seating area and upstairs bar remain more civilized than the downstairs club.

The Claremont Bar is a friendly local gay pub and restaurant, the Claremont provides a comfortable atmosphere and very reasonable prices on food and drink.
The 'Men Only' night on the 1st Saturday of every month and 'Kruz', held the 3rd Saturday of every month, are both extremely popular.
Deep Blue

The newest bar on the Edinburgh scene, Deep Blue is hidden beneath the Blue Moon Cafe on Broughton Street. Lacking decoration and lit by a soft blue light and candles, this small space is transformed into a sophisticated and fashionable bar. Not the place for a rowdy evening, but ideal for an intimate conversation or discreet rendezvous.

Habana is located next to the Playhouse Theatre, off the east end of Princes Street, and is a friendly place to visit pre/post performance. In this predominantly gay area, Habana has become a perennial favourite, and was voted Best Gay Pub by Gay Edinburgh. The bar caters to a fun crowd of young gay clubbers, and hedonistic straight folk. The inside is bright and colourful, and the glass brick bar acts as a dancefloor when things really get going. As the evening progresses, professional DJ's stir up the revellers.

management, the New Town Bar is back. Featuring a Quiz night on Thursday nights
they are open Sunday through Thursday from noon until 1am, Friday & Saturday
noon until 2am. The basement club bar is open every Saturday from 10pm until
2am.

The exterior of Planet Out is painted grey but it is certainly not grey inside! Prices for drinks and the usual bar snacks are reasonable. This is a good reason to stop here while you're checking out the Edinburgh gay and lesbian bars scene!
